Comprehensive Formula Overview of the Lip Blur
$35.00/0.22 oz. – $159.09 Per Ounce
This innovative formula is designed to “visibly smooth, blur, mattify, and hydrate” your lips with just “one swipe,” promising to last for an impressive “12 hours.” You can choose to wear it in a “blurred” manner, where you apply the product to the center of your lips and use a fingertip to expertly blend and diffuse the color, or opt for a “bold” look by applying it directly with the applicator for a full coverage effect.
However, it truly achieves a matte finish only when applied in a “blurred” fashion, as the pigmentation can be quite intense if too much product is deposited on the applicator. Even when using just one side, I found it provided ample coverage for my lips. The texture is remarkably lightweight, feeling velvety and moderately emollient, similar to a silky silicone finish, ensuring comfort throughout wear.
For a “bold” application that appears more matte, I recommend gently blotting after the initial application. This technique not only reduces shine but also helps to eliminate any excess product. The “blurred” application does sheer out slightly, as anticipated, resulting in a more matte appearance thanks to the thinner layer and the absorption of some emollients by my fingertip.
In my experience, the product did not significantly smooth or blur my lips when worn sheer, as it tended to highlight lip texture and settle into my lip lines over time, lasting approximately four hours. In contrast, when worn “bold,” it felt more forgiving, providing a slightly smoothing effect and lasting from five to seven hours, though it fell short of the promised 12-hour wear time. Overall, the formula offers light hydration as the day goes on.
Additionally, the product carries a delightful, sweet vanilla-like scent without any noticeable taste, enhancing the overall application experience.
