SKINCARE has become increasingly complicated lately and it’s difficult to know where to start and what to use.
But here are some habits you should definitely avoid.

Natalie O’Neill is a skincare fan she has shared four skincare habits that are completely pointless.
In a recent video she said: “These are things that I see in my comments and Dm’s all the time that people do each day as part of their skincare routine that are in fact completely pointless.”
Washing off last night products
Natalie said: “In at number one is feeling the need to wash off last night’s products because you think that they are incompatible with the ones you’re gonna put on this morning.”
She said: “This is about whether you need to wash off products from last night in order to make room for the ones in the morning. And the answer is no.”
Natalie said: “If you are interested in trying not cleansing in the morning but the only thing stopping you is the fact that you applied products last night and you believe they need to be gone before you apply your next ones in the morning.”
She continued: “This is a sign to let you know that you don’t need to. Even if they are Retinoid.”
Using too much Retinoid
Natalie said: “This mostly happens because people aren’t aware that they are basically the same thing, but Tretinoin is much stronger for example and that also goes for Adapalene or Epiduo.”
She said: “They are all Retinoids and you don’t need to use a retinol at the same time because effectively the same thing can take away your results from using a stronger retinoid.”

Natalie continued: “The Retinol can just create extra rotation that you don’t need when you are trying to adjust to a much stronger Retinoid.”
Using a toner
Natalie said: “In this day and age a good cleanser doesn’t strip your skin or change it’s PH. There are plenty of gentle hydration cleansers out there.”
She said: “It is outdated advice that you need to tone after using a cleanser for the sake of it. There is no real reason you need to use a toner unless you really want to.”
She continued: “The reason you might want to is because it contain ingredients that you like for example AHA or Niacinamide. But you don’t need to use a toner just for the sake of using a toner.”
Using Micellar water after your cleanser
Natalie said: “I see so many people use Micellar water as a toner after cleansing. Doesn’t make any sense if there is still make up on your cotton pad when you use micellar water after cleansing.”
She said: “All that means you need to invest more time into cleansing properly rather than using micellar water after you’ve cleansed.”
She continued: “The main purpose of micellar water is to help take off your makeup before you go on with your double cleanse.”
