My journey with the skincare brand Purlisse began during the early days of Ipsy subscription bags, which continue to thrive in popularity today. Purlisse stands out as one of the pioneering brands that beautifully combines Asian and Western skincare philosophies, a vision brought to life by Chinese-American founder Jennifer Yen. As a Chinese immigrant, I felt a profound connection to the brand’s ethos, and I fell in love with their Blue Lotus Moisturizer, which includes SPF 30. I went through two bottles before losing track of it, mainly because it’s only available on the Purlisse website, where prices in USD deterred me, especially after I found it at Cosmoprof in Vegas.
After a long delay, I finally decided to try Purlisse’s range of sheet masks. Although the specific mask I used has been discontinued, Purlisse offers a similar alternative along with four other options that I’m eager to test! Their website conveniently ships to Canada, so I’m considering placing a small order to see how the shipping process works across the border.
What sets this mask apart from others on the market? This exceptional mask is infused with white tea extract, which is a potent antioxidant and ranks fourth on the ingredient list, as well as blue lotus, a flower native to Egypt and parts of Asia. This ingredient is revered for its symbolism of rebirth and its ability to soothe the skin, promoting a smoother skin texture and a radiant complexion.

Even though this mask was somewhat dated, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the essence retained its quality, and the mask was still sufficiently soaked. While there wasn’t an overwhelming amount of leftover essence, I had no issues with the mask’s fit, especially considering how long I had it stored (apologies to the mask for my neglect!). The material of the mask was on the thicker side, yet it was saturated in essence, allowing it to adhere comfortably and effectively to my skin.
