Recently, I embarked on a journey into therapy to address various work-related challenges, and today’s session led to a significant breakthrough in how I handle negative thoughts. This experience has infused me with a sense of optimism for what lies ahead. My first encounter with therapy was last August, and although I was initially anxious, I discovered it to be incredibly beneficial and found a therapist who resonated with me on the very first attempt. After attending another session in October to navigate my apprehensions about flying to Paris, I found myself neglecting to book another appointment until last month, when work stress began to escalate. After seeing her twice in two weeks, I appreciate the consistency of having a professional check in on me, offering a fresh perspective each time and allowing me to start anew on a clean slate.
Deciding to pursue therapy was a monumental choice for me. In today’s world, discussions surrounding mental health have become increasingly open, which alleviated my feelings of shame about seeking help. In many Asian cultures, mental health topics are often shunned, and I am thankful for the resilient attitude I developed growing up. However, even before the pandemic in 2019, I began sensing the early signs of burnout from my job. Following several distressing incidents last year, I realized I had to either come to terms with certain realities or seek a change. Currently, I find myself in a transitional phase of acceptance, focusing on my strengths—particularly my ability to work effectively with clients—while dismissing the opinions of colleagues or superiors that do not serve my growth. I am confident in my skills and intend to fully embrace my professional capabilities!
Regarding this nail polish shade, I am an enormous fan of magenta, although I prefer it in a non-pearly finish. Unfortunately, this particular shade will be added to a donation pile for a close friend. Nevertheless, the OPI Nail Envy series is impressive, known for its classic shades combined with a nail hardening formula. Personally, I find myself reaching for the shade called Alpine Snow more often than not, as it complements many looks beautifully.
I sincerely hope that each of you is having a wonderful first week of April!
