The Fragrance Foundation U.K. Awards, established in 1990, are recognized as the pinnacle of excellence in the beauty journalism sector. These awards are separated into two key categories: The Jasmine Awards, which honor journalists and visualizers for their talent in articulating the intricate world of perfumery through their words and imagery, and The Fragrance Foundation U.K. Awards, which celebrate outstanding individual fragrances, advertising campaigns, top sales associates, and fragrance retailers. This event serves as a comprehensive snapshot of the leading and most aromatic names dominating the fragrance landscape today.
Each year, a fresh panel of esteemed judges is assembled, comprising specialists from various fields, including journalism, literature, fashion, lifestyle, public relations, and fragrance consultancy. This year’s judging panel was led by the renowned fragrance authority and author, Michael Edwards. His expertise, along with the diverse backgrounds of the judges, ensures that the decision-making process is thorough and reflective of the industry’s best.

We also want to raise a toast to our own Scented Letter magazine editor and writer, Jo Fairley, who has an impressive track record of accolades, as she was recognized as a finalist in two categories: Literary, for her piece When Your Back Garden is a Tuberose Field, and Practical Guide for the article The Wash Gets Posh. Furthermore, we want to celebrate the talented Scott McGlashan, who was honored as a Rising Star finalist for his heartfelt feature in Scented Letter magazine, entitled It Takes Them Right Back – which beautifully narrates his journey to rediscover a cherished fragrance from his grandmother’s past, as she sought to reconnect with her precious scent memories in light of her failing eyesight. This poignant story resonated deeply with many, and it’s clear that Scott is a bright talent to follow.
