Completely Bare Natural FacePhoto byDru Davis/BluBeauty
The “bare face” trend has become viral all around the world and in the beauty industry. Creating a natural face with makeup is more tedious than heavy glam makeup that you see today. I keep my skin naturally clear and want to give tips to keeping your skin clear and moisturized behind the makeup. To keep my true bare face naturally clear, here are 5 tips to healthy skin!
1. Make sure you have a skincare regimen!
Creating a consistent skincare routine can keep your skin clear. I recommend applying all your steps at least 3 to 4 times a week to establish balance for your skin. You can use trial and error to find the right products for you, but once you find your soulmate, keep it consistent! This is a great way to practice self-care which can even improve your mental health. Having a regimen will allow your skin to stay radiant, moisturized, youthful, and even repair overnight.
2. Get your cleanse on…PREP!
When using a cleanser, you want to determine whether you have normal, oily, or combination skin. Since I have normal skin, I use The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser. For a makeup girl like me, I need something that removes all dirt, oil, and makeup. Squalene is a hydrogenated version of squalene which is found is many types of fish oil. It is gentle on your skin while also reducing inflammation and hydrating your skin at the same time.
3. Time to Treat!
After your cleanser, I recommend treating your skin with a serum or toner. The Ordinary collection has been my favorite for my skin lately. The Niacinamide 10%+Zinc 1% serum is perfect for blemish-prone that smooths, brightens, and reinforces the skin’s barrier. When I stress, I get acne popping up on my forehead and cheek area, but when I use this serum, my face literally gets back to normal within 48 hours! If you prefer a toner, I would recommend using one that has witch hazel within it like Boscia. And I know when we hear the word toner we think astringents and drying. Boscia’s Rosewater Mist with Witch Hazel is an alcohol-free hydrating toner that absorbs excess oil and tightens pores.
4. Moisture and Hydrate
Moisturizing your skin is highly essential to not only hydrate but to keep your skin looking plump. Doing this step will help your makeup apply better and looking radiant throughout the day. Try to make sure that you are moisturizing twice a day, once in the morning and at night. Use a lightweight moisturizer that has a SPF in the morning to keep your skin protected and then a deeper, richer one at night. The Double Repair Moisturizer by La Roche-Posay adds up to 48 hours of hydration and repairs your skin’s protective barrier. An affordable option under $20 bucks is the Aveeno Daily Face Moisturizer with SPF 15. This moisturizer can be used to even the skin tone including those acne marks. This is a rich cream that can be used at night. I would also recommend Using an overnight mask to deeply get into your skin.
5. Stress
Stress is the number one reason for anxiety and acne. Keeping stress away can keep those blemishes away! Try using meditative breathing techniques, disconnecting from electronic devices 2 hours before bedtime, or taking a vacation. Let’s be honest, there are that natural are stressors hard to avoid. I will leave a link below for tips on how to keep it under control! Your skin is sensitive and delicate which means it can be affected by environmental stressors even when sitting on the couch! A daily skincare regimen will help revitalize your skin each day.
