The Bazaar was meticulously organized into 33 distinct product categories, including Scent (covering Bath & Body, Men’s & Women’s fragrances); Hair (encompassing Shampoo, Conditioner, Coloring, and Tools); Skin (featuring Cleanser, Anti-Aging, Eye Treatments, Face Masks, Lip Treatments, Moisturizers, Sun Products, and Skincare Tools); Makeup (including Eye Products, Face Products, Lip Products, Makeup Tools, and Nail Products); and Wellness (highlighting Sexual Wellness, CBD, Personal Care, and Men’s Grooming). Additionally, awards included the Indie Brand Special Award presented by Financo Raymond James, Indie Skincare, the Iconic Beauty Award, the Sustainability Excellence Award presented by Firmenich, Launch of the Year, Retailer of the Year, Influencer of the Year, and the Ingredients & Formulation Award presented by the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC).
“For 29 years, the CEW Beauty Awards have stood as the industry’s most prestigious accolade: chosen by beauty insiders and experts, the CEW awards are highly regarded by beauty enthusiasts looking for the most innovative products,” remarked CEW President Carlotta Jacobson. This testament of excellence underscores the importance of these awards in recognizing the best in beauty innovation and consumer trust.
The inaugural event was divided into two engaging sessions (afternoon and evening), representing a fresh approach to introducing nominees across all categories while offering a hands-on experience for attendees. This innovative format allowed participants to immerse themselves in the latest beauty trends and products, fostering a unique connection between consumers and creators in the beauty industry.
“This year, we unveiled the 2022 finalists at our debut Beauty Bazaar, a brand new, immersive, and elevated members-only event,” Jacobson stated, emphasizing the significance of this new initiative in celebrating beauty innovation. It’s an exciting time for the industry as it embraces new ways to engage with audiences.
Beyond an impressive lineup of products, attendees were treated to a variety of on-site services, including nail design, makeup touch-ups, a braid bar, and soothing shoulder massages provided by Spa Chicks on the Go. The event featured hair styling techniques using advanced Dyson products, personalized skincare regimens from Drunk Elephant, Body Art Markers from Body Mark, and the chance to experience temporary tattoos without permanence from Inkbox. This diverse range of services ensured that guests left feeling pampered and inspired.

Guests were also encouraged to explore the Creators Corner, which featured a selection of cosmetic and personal care ingredients emphasizing green chemistry and clean beauty, available in smaller quantities for indie brands. The Beauty Sampling Workshop, created by RPG and fulfilled by PIMS, provided an interactive experience, while a lounge presented by Amazon Premium Beauty offered a relaxing space for attendees. CVS Pharmacy contributed to the experience with skin analysis featuring the Skinscope, alongside personalized product recommendations. Each attendee received a Beauty Bazaar gift bag filled with products from the Beauty Creators finalists and entrants at the end of each session, leaving everyone with lasting memories and valuable beauty products.

The Beauty Bazaar Innovation Partners included prominent names such as Firmenich, CVS Pharmacy, Financo Raymond James, Amazon Premium Beauty, Dyson, Creators Corner, Nielsen IQ, QVC Beauty, Inkbox, Bodymark Temporary Tattoo Markers, Snap Inc., Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, and the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC), which showcased ingredient and formulation finalists. Additionally, partners such as BASF, Clariant, Croda Inc., Geltor Inc., IFF/Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, Silab, and Symrise Inc. played pivotal roles in making this event a success, highlighting the collaboration within the beauty industry.
