Through her engaging video content, she empowers viewers to enhance their beauty routines without compromising their youthful glow.

From using too much concealer to picking the wrong lip color, a makeup artist has shared some beauty mistakes that can automatically make you look older
Andreea Ali, a popular beauty influencer based in Paris, spoke out about all the ways in which people tend to accidentally age themselves using makeup in a recent YouTube video
The beauty guru explained that simple things like making your eyebrows too dark or putting on black eyeliner can result in you appearing much older than you actually are
‘However, when makeup adds years to your face, that’s where I draw the line,’ she stated firmly.
The talented beauty guru pointed out that minor makeup choices, such as overly dark eyebrows or the application of harsh black eyeliner, can significantly age one’s appearance. These simple missteps can inadvertently create a more aged look than intended, highlighting the importance of mindful makeup application.
She elaborated that trending techniques like baking and contouring could enhance the visibility of wrinkles rather than concealing them, which can lead to an older-looking complexion. Embracing a more natural approach can often yield better results.
According to Andreea, here are the critical makeup mistakes to avoid for a more youthful look:
Excessive concealer use can highlight creases instead of camouflaging them
Andreea explained in her video that using too much concealer is an easy way a person can age themselves, since it will ‘crease and crack’ when you move
Less is more: Instead, she suggested applying a ‘tiny, little bit’ to the ‘places you would like to bring more light,’ which included under her eyes and next to her nose
Her go-to concealer is the Huda Beauty Full Filter Concealer, which costs $29Â
Andreea articulated in her video how excessive concealer application is a prevalent mistake that can lead to a more aged look.
While it may create a flawless appearance in photographs and videos, in real life, it often results in an unflattering look. She noted, ‘For a photoshoot or video, it may work, but in everyday life, it tends to look quite bad.’
‘Overapplication of concealer can lead to a dry, cracked appearance due to the natural movement around the eyes. It’s best to avoid using too much concealer, as it can lead to an undesirable, aged look,’ she advised.
Instead, Andreea suggested applying a ‘tiny little bit’ of concealer to areas where you want to enhance brightness, such as under the eyes and near the nose, to maintain a youthful look.
‘I’m okay with not completely concealing dark circles. It’s alright if a little darkness shows through,’ she shared. ‘I prefer a light layer of concealer that enhances my youthful appearance. Chasing the perfect look can often lead to an older appearance.’
Her personal favorite concealer is the Huda Beauty Full Filter Concealer, priced at $29.
Avoid the Baking Technique: It Can Make Skin Appear Tighter and More Wrinkled
Andreea said to avoid baking – which involves ‘applying a good amount of powder under the eyes, letting it sit for a few minutes, and then taking it off’ – if you don’t want to look older
Andreea insisted that it can backfire on people 35 and older since the process is ‘very heavy’ and leaves her skin feeling ‘tighter’
Andreea advised avoiding the baking technique, which includes ‘applying a generous amount of powder underneath the eyes, letting it sit for a few moments, and then removing it’ if you aim to avoid an older appearance.
While this method has gained popularity recently for its long-lasting effects, Andreea cautioned that it can backfire for individuals aged 35 and above.
‘Baking might work for a 16-year-old with no wrinkles, as there’s nothing to crease. However, for those over 35, it becomes unnecessary,’ she stated firmly.
Not a fan: ‘It’s absolutely horrific, it just does not work for me,’ she said. ‘I feel like if I smile, it’s going to crack. I don’t like the sensation’
Andreea expressed her disdain towards the baking process, describing it as ‘extremely heavy,’ which can lead to uncomfortable tightness in the skin.
‘It feels horrendous; it just doesn’t suit my skin type,’ she mentioned. ‘The fear of cracking when I smile is unsettling, and I dislike the sensation it creates on my skin.’
‘While many might appreciate the initially perfected appearance, I assure you, this technique can age you over time.’
Contouring Can Add Years – Opt for Bronzer and Blush Instead
