I kicked off my “birthday vacation” yesterday with an exhilarating trip downtown, enjoying dinner at Miku amid the lively FIFA and Canada Day celebrations. By the time we returned home, my husband and I were completely overwhelmed by the crowds. To add to the excitement, I felt a surge of anxiety while driving home as the engine light on Evelyn, my 2004 Honda Civic, illuminated. The car shuddered slightly before the light appeared, leading me to suspect a spark plug issue. I was fervently hoping she would make it home safely without requiring a tow truck on a holiday!

I feel accomplished with my empties this past month. looking at the photos makes them seem less impressive, despite my dedicated effort to finish products I’ve had for quite some time! Nevertheless, I’m proud of my progress! To begin with, finishing the Dior Star Foundation*, which I genuinely believe is around 10 years old, was a significant achievement! I scraped every last bit before finally cleaning out the bottle, a task that took about 20 minutes! I also used up the Rare Beauty Eyeshadow Stick in the shade Contentment, for which I already had a backup, as I use it almost daily for work. I was also using a small metal tool to get every last bit out of the tube, so I’m thrilled I maximized its value!
I wash my hair every three days and curl it the following morning using a flat iron. I always apply a heat protectant, and I found the AG Hair Firewall* to be incredibly lightweight. It felt as if it was barely there! This was the first heat protectant I’ve finished in years, and I take pride in this because I usually try or review new products. Now that I am committed to using what I have, I am finally seeing progress!
Regarding Lush’s Prince Charming*, while the vibrant pink cream shower gel looks fun, it creates a mess, so I’ve been actively avoiding many of Lush’s brightly colored items.
Many people recommended the Vichy Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover*, and yes, it’s quite effective. I’m not convinced it’s better than others I’ve used in the past. I still find myself needing a cotton swab after a shower, so I don’t foresee replacing this product.
I completed this single sample last month, likely because I was focused on the full-sized items. The Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip in Rose is fantastic! I was scraping out the last remnants because I adored the coconut scent, the color, and the thick balmy texture. While there are other similar products available, the shade suited me so perfectly that I purchased the full size during the April VIB Rouge sale.
