Discover the Benefits of Using Gel Polish for Your Nail Art
While I use both gel and regular polish, my current preference leans towards gel polish, and here’s why. Firstly, gel polish cures under a lamp in just 30 seconds, whereas regular polish can take an eternity to dry, increasing the risk of smudging. Secondly, gel allows me to effectively lock in intricate nail art designs, making it ideal for creating stunning easy Halloween ghost nails. With regular polish, I often have to wait for the base coat to dry, and any premature touch can ruin my design. Additionally, I can layer regular polish on top of a gel base, which enhances its longevity. Lastly, the gel overlay significantly strengthens my natural nails. While there are numerous advantages, these are the primary reasons why I lean towards gel polish!
Essential Nail Prep Steps for a Flawless Manicure

Before diving into my manicure, I make sure to thoroughly prep my nails. This essential step involves removing any excess cuticles, eliminating my previous manicure, buffing the nails, and getting them ready for nail extensions. I always wear UPF gloves to protect my hands and ensure cleanliness. To achieve this, I meticulously wipe my nail beds with 70% isopropyl alcohol using lint-free wipes to eliminate dust and excess oils, setting the stage for a flawless application.
Step-by-Step Guide to Preparing Full Coverage Nail Tips

I take great care in sizing my full coverage nail tips against each of my nails prior to application. Currently, I’m using Painted Desert Xtra Short Coffin Tips, which are fantastic, though they appear longer on my short nail beds. Coffin tips are particularly effective for intricate nail designs, including the easy Halloween ghost nails I’m excited to create. Due to my recent surgery and ongoing physical therapy, I’m temporarily keeping my nails short. My sizing is as follows: Thumb 3, Index and Ring 9, Middle 7, and Pinky 13. To prep the inside of the full coverage nail tips, I utilize Aprés Gel-X Prep Acid-Free Tip Primer, ensuring a strong bond.
My Personal Nail Preparation Process for Full Coverage Tips

To ensure a strong adhesion, I prime my naked nail beds with Orly Nail Tip Primer, warming the primer for 30 seconds in my LED nail lamp. Recently, I transitioned to Daily Charme Nail Tip Extension Gel after Painted Desert ran out of Cactus Gelly Plus. This switch has proven excellent as the product works wonderfully. I apply a thin layer of the Nail Tip Extension Gel on all nails and then cure them for 60 seconds under the lamp, ensuring a solid foundation for my full coverage tips.
Step-by-Step Application of Full Coverage Tips on My Nails
For the application, I carefully paint the Daily Charme Nail Tip Extension Gel on the back half of my full coverage tip, placing a generous bead of the product at the cuticle line. Next, I activate my Painted Desert Sidewinder Flash Cure Lamp. I gently press the full coverage tip onto my nail, evenly spreading the gel across the nail bed. Once satisfied with the coverage, I hold my nail under the Flash Cure Lamp for 20 seconds. I repeat this process for each nail, concluding with a 60-second cure under the LED nail lamp. After curing, I lightly file the edges and ends of my tips and utilize a cuticle ball tip with my e-file to clean any excess gel spill. Now, I’m all set for some delightful nail art!

Creating the Perfect Purple Shade for My Nails

In order to create my stunning easy Halloween ghost nails, I needed to find the ideal purple shade. Surprisingly, I realized that my gel nail polish collection lacked enough vibrant purples! I was searching for a mid-tone purple that glowed in the dark, leading me to mix my own custom color.
I started with iGel Blackberry Lavender glow-in-the-dark gel nail polish as my base coat, applying it to all nails and curing for 30 seconds. In a light-tight glass jar, I combined iGel Blackberry Lavender (a pastel purple) with Daily Charme Grapetini (a deep, vivid tinted glass purple) to create a richer hue. After thoroughly mixing these shades, I applied a thin layer of this custom blend and cured for another 30 seconds for a captivating finish.
Enhancing My Design with Magic Holo Chrome

Recently, glazed donut nails have become a major trend, and the easiest way to achieve this look is by utilizing the Daily Charme Magic White Chrome. However, my personal favorite is the Daily Charme Magic Holo Chrome, which offers a stunning sheer transparent rainbow holographic shine that elevates the glazed donut look to an entirely new level! In the photo above, you can see my nails featuring Daily Charme Jawbreaker (an intense blue) topped with Magic Holo Chrome, showcasing a breathtaking rainbow iridescence.
To apply, I start with a thin layer of Daily Charme Chrome Gel and cure it for 60 seconds. Since it’s a no-wipe product, I then take an eyeshadow sponge and gently buff the Magic Holo Chrome onto each nail. This technique leaves my purple base color with a beautiful holographic shine that truly enhances the overall look.
Crafting Charming Ghost Designs for Halloween

For crafting my charming ghost designs, I opted to mix two colors, but I’d advise against doing that again. Instead, I recommend using the fantastic glow-in-the-dark white, Beetles Screaming Soul. Initially, I blended Screaming Soul with Daily Charme Unikitty, but the magnetic effect was lost. Next time, I’ll apply it on top. To create the ghost shapes, I utilized a gel art brush, forming an S-shape and then filling it in to bring my easy Halloween ghost nails to life.
I loosely followed a helpful tutorial from Daily Charme’s Instagram, which I highly recommend for anyone interested in easy DIY nail tutorials. To finalize my ghost designs, I found that a dotting tool was invaluable. I tested both the Madam Glam Black acrylic art pen and Madam Glam Perfect Black gel polish with a dotting tool. Ultimately, the dotting tool provided the most consistent results, even when working with my non-dominant hand.
To seal my intricate nail art design, I applied a coat of Daily Charme 5-in-1 Strengthening Gel, which is particularly effective with glitters and various nail art techniques. Finally, I finished off the look with two coats of Daily Charme Diamond Shine Top Coat, ensuring a glossy and durable finish.
