Rejuvenating Herbal Hair Rinse for Enhanced Shine
Say goodbye to product buildup and hello to radiant, shiny hair with this effective herbal hair rinse that is easy to make at home.
The powerful properties of nettles—including their rich antioxidant, antimicrobial, and astringent qualities—work to strengthen your hair while restoring the natural pH balance of both your hair and scalp, leading to healthier hair overall.
Makes 1 rinse.
- 2 cups distilled water
- 1 teaspoon green tea leaves, or 2 tea bags
- 1 tablespoon dried nettles
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar
About an hour prior to washing your hair, bring the distilled water to a rolling boil in a large pot. Once boiling, add the green tea, dried nettles, and rosemary. Remove the pot from heat, cover it with a lid, and allow the mixture to cool completely for approximately 1 hour. After cooling, strain the mixture to remove the solids and then add the apple cider vinegar.
To use this herbal rinse: Shampoo your hair as you normally would, and then follow up with the herbal rinse. Allow the rinse to fully absorb into your hair and scalp without rinsing it out. Finally, wrap your hair in a towel and dry as you typically do.
Nourishing Pumpkin Spice Molasses Hair Treatment for Scalp Health
To ensure your hair grows thick and strong, it’s essential to start with a healthy scalp. This mineral-rich treatment, featuring fresh pumpkin, provides deep nourishment to the scalp, while its antioxidants promote robust hair growth and fortify hair follicles for optimal strength.
Makes 1 treatment.
- 1/2 cup canned or fresh pure pumpkin puree
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1 teaspoon mixed ground nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves (optional)
Before applying, combine all the ingredients in a small bowl, mixing until they are well blended and uniform in texture.
Apply the mixture generously to your hair and scalp, and cover your head with a shower cap to trap heat, allowing the treatment to deeply penetrate your scalp for 15 to 20 minutes. This will enhance the benefits of the nourishing ingredients.
After the treatment time, rinse your hair thoroughly to reveal healthier, stronger strands.
