A NURSE tried a straw that supposedly helps prevent wrinkles from forming around your mouth, but she’s not fully sold on the invention yet.

Jordan Harper is a nurse practitioner and skincare educator who tried a TikTok viral anti-aging straw that she was asked to test out by her followers.

“I bet close to a thousand people sent me this Reel so naturally, I had to order ‘the straw,’” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram Reel.

In the video, Jordan shared side-by-side recordings of the original straw video that went viral and of herself trying the product.

In the original video, a woman is seen holding a clear glass straw that has a unique curve towards the top of it.

The top of the straw is horizontal rather than vertical, and the typical “end” of the straw is on the side rather than on top.

“POV: You find the only lip care anti-wrinkle straw,” the woman wrote over the video, adding: “I was influenced.”

While it may have seemed that the hole would still be at the end of the straw, it was actually discreetly placed along the horizontal top.

The original creator partially wrapped her lips around the horizontal top and began easily sipping her drink.

The product description says: “Flute style design delivers the straw to your lips horizontally, eliminating the creasing of your lips when using.”

Jordan tried out the straw as well in the video. As she was walking on the treadmill, she lifted up a water tumbler with the straw inserted in it.

She pouted her lips over the straw – rather than puckering them as strongly if she had been using a normal straw.

She immediately started laughing, writing “Easier said than done” on top of the video.

“First thoughts, not as easy as it looks, clearly I need some practice,” she wrote in the caption.

“Not sure I’ll actually use it. But for filming content, yes pleaseeee,” she said of the trendy and unique product.

People sounded off in the comments, both shocked and upset over the supposed “anti-wrinkle” straw.

“What in the actual hell is this ridiculousness?” one person wrote.

Another asked: “Can’t we just live life without worrying about this?!”

Jordan responded: “Definitely!” but shared the purpose for testing the product.

“It’s one of the most common complaints I see in practice w/ patients which is why I address it at all because a lot of people aren’t aware of what can contribute to developing lines around the mouth,” she clarified.

Another person asked: “Are we really this concerned sipping from a straw will cause wrinkles? Need to know!!”

People shared that they were actually interested in this and said that the puckering motion from sipping through straws or smoking cigarettes can have long-term effects that they want to avoid.
