Back in the day, subscription services were popping up everywhere, and I found myself subscribed to multiple boxes, including Glossybox and Birchbox, in addition to receiving numerous press samples. This overwhelming influx left me feeling uninspired and reluctant to engage with the products. However, after taking a break at the beginning of this month, I realized how much I missed the thrill of discovering new products and trying out different brands! The total cost of this box landed around $27 CDN due to exchange rates and shipping. While not the most budget-friendly option, the joy of exploring new items makes it potentially worthwhile! Plus, the flexibility to pause and resume my subscription is a fantastic feature!
Experience the Radiance of Just Ximena Cosmetics | Sparkling Champagne Highlighter
Founded by the talented Ximena Gallegos, Just Ximena is a vibrant, cruelty-free beauty brand that draws inspiration from Latinx culture—one that I was previously unfamiliar with. This particular Glam Bag features a deluxe-sized (2g) powder highlighter in the stunning shade “Sparkling Champagne,” designed to deliver a luminous “Miami glow” that can be enjoyed year-round. The swatch indicates impressive pigmentation, and the texture is remarkably soft and smooth, making application a breeze! I’ve been using it to accentuate my cupid’s bow, the area beneath my brows, and the tip of my nose, and I truly appreciate how a little product goes a long way for a radiant finish!
While I don’t believe this specific size is available for individual purchase, their website does offer highlighters in a palette of four shades for $28 CDN, allowing beauty enthusiasts to explore various tones that suit their style.
Although I couldn’t find the exact gram weight listed on their website, I estimate that this highlighter holds a value of approximately $7 CDN, making it a delightful addition to my collection.

Another exciting discovery for me is Kiss & Smink, a brand that champions simplicity in makeup. Featured in April’s Glam Bag is the Lip Aura Tinted Lip Oil, which provides a subtle hint of color in a luxurious, non-sticky formula. I found myself wearing this all day long due to its comfortable, plush feel on my lips, and the delightful candy-like fragrance made it even more enjoyable!
The shade I received was the naturally pink “Peony,” and I was thrilled to discover it came in a FULL SIZE retailing at an impressive $31 CDN! This luxurious addition is sure to elevate any beauty routine.
Revitalize Your Skin with Goldfaden MD Body Surge Hydrating and Restoring Moisturizer
I was already familiar with this brand from previous beauty boxes, but I initially overlooked this particular body moisturizer due to its unassuming appearance. However, upon using it, I was genuinely impressed by its delightful scent! The light citrus fragrance is refreshing and the formula is non-greasy while providing excellent hydration. It would serve wonderfully as a hand cream as well! The full size of this body cream is 147mL and retails for $65 USD, which means this 20mL sample has a value of $8.84 USD.
Unfortunately, the international flat rate shipping fee on the Goldfaden MD website is $39.95 USD, making it unlikely that I’ll purchase this moisturizer anytime soon. It’s a shame since it was such a pleasant surprise!
Enjoy a Refreshing Cleanse with Elizabeth Mott Vitamin C Cleanser
Elizabeth Mott is a brand I’ve encountered in previous beauty box reviews, but since their products aren’t widely available in Canada, it’s been a while since I last used something from this Korean beauty-inspired label. This cleanser is an absolute delight to use; it has a wonderful orange scent that makes the cleansing experience feel indulgent. While I know that the fragrance isn’t the most crucial aspect of a vitamin C product, the aroma is a treat when I wash it off! The gel consistency is pleasant and does not leave my skin feeling dry. I can genuinely say I would love to have the full size of this cleanser! This 15mL deluxe size retails for approximately $1.70 USD.
Create a Flawless Base with E.L.F. Cosmetics Liquid Poreless Putty Primer
Surprisingly, I must admit that I am one of the few who hasn’t tried this popular primer until now. Receiving a full size of this much-discussed liquid version has truly enhanced my experience with this month’s Glam Bag! Although I can’t compare it to the original solid putty primer, my initial impressions of this liquid formula are quite positive. Its texture is reminiscent of a moisturizer, and once dried, it leaves a silky finish that isn’t silicone-heavy. The smooth canvas it creates on my skin is perfect for both pressed powder and liquid foundations, ensuring a flawless makeup application. I received the full size which retails for $14 CDN.
Final Verdict: Assessing the Value of April’s Ipsy Glam Bag After considering a 30% exchange rate for the body moisturizer and cleanser that do not have Canadian versions of their websites, the overall value of April’s Glam Bag amounts to $65.70 CDN. Ultimately, the true worth lies in what YOU, as a subscriber, find valuable. Even though I was surprised by the $31 price tag on the lip gloss, I’m still satisfied with the variety and quality of the products I received. I look forward to opting in for the May Glam Bag, and I must say that the bag itself is quite cute and perfectly suited for spring and summer vibes, so stay tuned for next month’s offerings!
