This realization prompted me to recognize that my beauty blogging lacked a structured plan for the month. I used to thoroughly enjoy planning themed content, but the past two years have presented challenges. Whenever I get a couple of days off, I feel a surge of creativity and excitement for content creation. these plans often fall apart after just one or two workdays. My energy levels have certainly shifted compared to my 30s! With these Ipsy reviews, my aim is to catch up on summer products that are particularly relevant for this season, helping me regain my momentum!

DR.JART | Ceramidin Skin Barrier Moisturizing Mask

As a devoted fan of sheet masks, I was thrilled to receive my first one in an Ipsy Original Bag! Dr. Jart is a pioneer in the Korean sheet mask arena, though it has seen increased competition from more budget-friendly K-beauty brands. I previously reviewed an older version of this mask (here) and was impressed! This hydrating mask is perfect for skin that needs rejuvenation after long flights or fluctuating temperatures. MISCHO BEAUTY | Mini Eyeshadow Palette in 02

Initially, I didn’t recognize this brand, but upon visiting their website, I realized I already owned a Mischo Beauty nail polish purchased from Okoko Cosmetiques in Vancouver! Mischo is a vegan and cruelty-free brand that began with nail polish but has since expanded into makeup. I considered giving this eyeshadow palette away, thinking it looked like a dupe for Natasha Denona products and doubted its performance. After swatching the colors, I found them to be surprisingly beautiful! I will definitely keep this palette now that I know it was crafted by Mischo! I received the FULL SIZE valued at $26 USD.

GOLDFADEN MD | Needle-Less Lines Smoothing Concentrate

This product creates a thin layer on the skin that offers a tightening sensation. While it feels unusual, those who appreciate a temporary lifting effect may find it enjoyable. It is not “Botox in a bottle,” a phrase I find overused, but it can be applied to areas prone to wrinkles, such as crow’s feet, around the lips, and “11s” to smooth and plump the skin, minimizing the appearance of fine lines. With just six ingredients, this product is quite minimalist! Although I wouldn’t purchase this or a similar item in the future, I am glad to have tried it. Interestingly, I discovered on the Goldfaden website that this 10mL bottle is priced at the same amount! I received a deluxe sample valued at an impressive $40 USD!

TEEEZ | Battle Prep Face Primer

I have a passion for quality primers, and I am also a fan of TEEEZ, so I anticipated a positive experience! When I discovered it was a mattifying face primer, I expected it to resemble classic products like Benefit Porefessional or Smashbox Photofinish. it exceeded my expectations! This vegan product has a lightweight gel texture that maintains my skin’s natural appearance while providing a smoother finish. It felt incredibly comfortable, making it enjoyable to use! A quick check on the TEEEZ website confirmed that this 15mL primer is indeed the full size. Although it feels diminutive, the texture allows for ample application, yet anything under 30mL feels like a sample to me! I received the FULL SIZE valued at $42 USD.

COTE BEAUTY | Hydrating Hand and Body Lotion

Cote Beauty is a woman-owned brand established in 2013, focusing on “healthy nail polish.” While I dislike labeling these brands as “clean” or “non-toxic,” that is essentially how it started. Their product line emphasizes nails and the surrounding skin, including hand and body lotions. They now also offer lip and hair products, and I appreciate their aesthetic! It’s unfortunate that their products are primarily available in the US (though they do ship to Canada), as the exchange rate and duties deter me from purchasing.

This mini hand and body lotion boasts a delightful, unique scent—a blend of lemon, seagrass, honeysuckle, wild sea rose, and sea daffodils. The lightweight texture works well for hands but may be inadequate for drier areas like elbows and legs. Personally, I prefer lighter moisturizers, making this texture ideal for me. I received a deluxe sample size valued at $12 USD.

Final verdict: This month’s bag was a great success! There was a wonderful variety of products, all of which I find useful! The total value of this April Original Bag reached an impressive $181.97 CDN, which is astounding. I suspect some prices, particularly for the makeup primer, were slightly inflated. Regardless, I am satisfied, and I am excited to see what May’s bag offers, as it promises to be just as impressive!
