Kiara Advani feels that the notion of beauty is an inside-out approach. The rising star of Bollywood has more than once advocated, that being comfortable in your skin and embracing who you are is–in. And beauty bottles should only enhance your truest self , especially when they’re thoughtfully created for your daily skincare and body care rituals. In fact, Kiara Advani’s latest venture as the newest face of Kimirca–a homegrown and vegan personal care brand, serendipitously furthers her efforts. In an exclusive chat with VogueKiara Advani talks about her self-care rituals, evolving beauty definitions, sustainability and her go-to beauty products.

Sonakshi Sharma: Beauty has evolved over the past few years, with ever-changing definitions–what does it mean to you personally today?

Kiara Advani (KA): In my opinion, beauty is more about how you feel than how you appear. For me, it means feeling at ease in my own skin. Being able to try or do almost anything without worrying about being judged, criticized  , or educated and having the self-assurance to own up to who you are.

With the definitions constantly evolving, I believe that with all of my appearances, personality, and looks, I have religiously tried to adhere to the maxim ‘less is more.’ My personal curations typically speak more about my choices of making conscious decisions that are good for me and the world around me, such as practices of using beauty products that are vegan, cruelty-free, sustainable, and give back to the community.

SS: Speaking of making conscious decisions–another growing theme and concern within the beauty industry is sustainability–what are your thoughts on it?

I think sustainable beauty is an important concept that involves creating products and practices that are environmentally friendly and ethically responsible. It can include using natural, organic, and biodegradable ingredients, as well as packaging that is recyclable. to be harmful to the environment and animal testing. It’s much more than just labels.

Adopting sustainable beauty practices can help reduce the negative impact that the beauty industry has on the environment and support the well-being of both people and the planet.
