Explore the Innovative Features of This Multi-Purpose Formula
$20.00/0.34 oz. – $58.82 Per Ounce
This unique cream product boasts a “highly pigmented,” “smudge-proof,” “waterproof,” and “rapid drying” formula, making it a versatile choice for makeup enthusiasts. Designed for application on the eyes, lips, and cheeks, it’s worth noting that the Foil finish contains plastic glitter (PET), which the FDA does not deem eye-safe. Therefore, caution is advised when using these products in sensitive areas.
The standout feature of this formula is its impressive “rapid drying” time. While this can be advantageous for quick applications, it also requires users to work swiftly and skillfully to achieve desired effects on the skin, particularly when blending or diffusing edges. Although the brand caters to consumers, it’s especially popular among professional makeup artists, indicating a potential learning curve for less experienced users.
It’s important to note that drying times can vary by shade, with some drying significantly faster than others. Once set, the products effectively remain smudge-proof, aligning with the brand’s claims. However, users should be cautious, as attempts to blend post-setting can lead to product lifting off the skin. Most shades are richly pigmented, so starting with a light application on the cheeks is advisable, as some of the sparkly options may appear less opaque.
The product’s consistency is characterized as thin and lightweight, providing a runnier cream that may lead to unintentional excess product being dispensed. However, after several applications, I learned to control the pressure needed to extract the appropriate amount from the tube effectively, ensuring a more manageable application process.
Maximize Your Eye Makeup with This Versatile Product
When it comes to application on the eyes, the choice of tools—fingertips or synthetic brushes—depends largely on the intended shade intensity and desired finish. I found it beneficial to dispense a small amount onto the back of my hand, allowing me to use my fingertips for an all-over application or a brush for more precision. Given my larger fingertips in relation to my eye size, I preferred using fluffy, synthetic brushes to blend edges and achieve a sheer finish.
Some of the Foil shades were noticeably thicker and tackier upon application, which sometimes made it challenging to achieve an even distribution. These shades excelled as accents, particularly along the inner tear duct or at the center of the eyelid, enhancing the overall look without overwhelming the eye area.
The majority of shades deliver impressive pigmentation, blendability, and longevity, with most lasting around 10 hours without fading, creasing, or flaking. However, after multiple consecutive days of wear, I did observe a slight dryness on my eyelids, which is worth considering for those with sensitive skin.
Achieve Stunning Lip Looks with This Innovative Formula
I was pleasantly surprised by how well this formula performed on the lips, as multi-purpose products often excel in one area while falling short in others. The application was smooth whether using a fingertip or a lip brush, though I preferred the speed and ease of using my fingertip. Most shades applied evenly, without emphasizing lip texture or lines, and offered a comfortable wear throughout the day.
While the dry down was noticeable, the product retained a light tackiness, but I experienced no issues with color lifting. Despite resembling the finish of a liquid lipstick, it felt lightweight and flexible, contributing to a comfortable wear. Impressively, I didn’t notice any marks on my glass after sipping, and most shades lasted for six hours or more, even surviving a cup of coffee.
However, the sparkly shades with lower opacity were less even in application and felt slightly tackier. If I pressed my lips together, I noticed some product movement, which is something to keep in mind when choosing these shades for a long day.
Get the Perfect Cheek Application with This Creamy Formula
Applying this formula on the cheeks can be a bit of an adjustment, especially since it tends to provide a sheer finish rather than full coverage. To achieve the best results with the more pigmented shades, users should begin with a minimal amount and work quickly. I preferred using soft, feathery duo-fiber brushes for vivid shades to diffuse the product effectively, but fingertips were handy for initial placement, followed by a clean brush for seamless blending.
The longevity of the product on the cheeks was comparable to its performance on the eyes, providing around 10 hours of wear with minimal fading.
Editor’s note: I previously overlooked the multi-use nature of this product, initially purchasing it solely as a cream eyeshadow for review. Considering the extensive array of products I have to test, revisiting each shade for swatches on cheeks and lips could be a daunting task. Nevertheless, I evaluated each shade for application, pigmentation, and longevity across all three uses, although you will only find a skin swatch in this review.
