Before diving into the captivating world of scenting the Traitors from the U.K.’s exhilarating second series, a heads up: this article contains SPOILERS, so if you haven’t yet watched episode nine, you might want to look away now.
If you find yourself glued to your screens three evenings a week, eagerly awaiting the thrilling conclusion of season two like I am, you’re undoubtedly aware that The Traitors has emerged as one of the most popular reality TV shows of all time. This ingenious format—a murder mystery set in a castle, devoid of costumes, with contestants engaged in a psychological battle over twelve gripping episodes—has proven to be utterly irresistible to an ever-growing audience of reality TV enthusiasts.
The atmospheric setting is just one factor; the brilliant presenter, Claudia Winkleman, with her perfectly deadpan delivery, iconic fringe and eyeliner combo, along with her chic wardrobe of chunky sweaters and eclectic tartan outfits, adds to the allure. Yet, it is the exceptional skills of the production team that truly elevate this program. One of their greatest challenges is assembling a diverse group of contestants who viewers can connect with—whether through admiration or disdain—while simultaneously sparking intense discussions about what choices we might make if faced with similar high-stakes scenarios.
Twitter (which will always be referred to as Twitter, thank you very much, Mr. Musk) has been buzzing with passionate opinions, and while we could easily get lost in that realm, this time, we’re focusing on the art of fragrance—specifically, pairing the remaining contestants of the show with perfumes that might resonate with their personalities.
While it may sound like an unusual concept, my previous explorations of linking fragrances to movies and television series have yielded fascinating insights. Pairing perfumes with distinct characters from popular culture often evokes strong reactions and discussions. Even if you disagree with the matches, it stimulates thought and prompts you to consider what scents you would associate with specific characters or situations. This exercise can also enhance our everyday lives, illuminating not just the fragrances themselves but also the personal connections we draw from them.
The next time you’re contemplating whether a particular scent is right for you, or which fragrance you feel inclined to wear on a given day, think about a celebrity it could embody, or perhaps a beloved novel or piece of music. Perfumers are inspired by a myriad of artistic influences, so it’s only natural that we should be equally inspired as we make our scent selections.
As we eagerly anticipate the season finale, take a moment to reflect on which fragrance you are naturally drawn to, and consider whether this attraction signifies a deeper desire within you—beyond simply wanting to smell delightful. Additionally, ponder whether you would thrive as a Faithful or if you harbor the heart of a true Traitor…

Find Your Essence with Harry [Original Traitor] – Memoize London EGO
One might wonder if Harry, the darling of the early episodes, could take his name a bit too literally with this scent. Memoize EGO seeks ‘The essence of identity,’ which is precisely what the Faithfuls could benefit from discovering sooner rather than later. This fragrance opens with fresh green fig and sharp cassis that warm beautifully on the skin, revealing what the brand describes as ‘the true meaning of “you.”’ The question remains: will Harry’s sharpness endure, or will a gentler side emerge as the competition unfolds? He’d be wise to avoid overspraying from the Ego source, regardless of the outcome…
