Are you a fan of the popular show Hot Ones? If you haven’t tuned in yet, it’s hosted by Sean Evans, who asks “hot questions with even hotter wings.” Each season features a different array of hot sauces, with the exception of Da Bomb, known for its extreme heat derived from pure pepper extract. Although I typically shy away from spicy food, I have a distinct passion for spicy lip products. Imagine my excitement when I discovered the Sephora Collection Plump Lip Gloss x Tabasco Collaboration while browsing through the Sephora app!

Initially, only the green lip gloss appeared in my suggestions. upon clicking it, I discovered there are three additional shades available in a set! I already own a few shades of this lip gloss, and what I appreciate about them is their cooling, icy sensation, which is much more pleasant than the itchy, prickly feeling some lip plumpers can cause. One thing led to another, and I decided to use one of my Christmas gift cards to purchase the entire set!

Surprisingly, these glosses do not carry the scent of Tabasco sauce at all! The spice level ranges from the mild green to the intense black, which happens to be my personal favorite. Each gloss comes in a charming little silicone sleeve adorned with the Tabasco logo, resembling mini Tabasco bottles. These sleeves can easily be attached to bags, making them trendy bag charms. Each sleeve also features a cute red pepper charm!

In my daily routine, I find myself reaching for Tabasco Red the most frequently; however, Extreme Heat stands out as my favorite due to its tingling sensation and plumping effect. In the photos below, you will notice that I am wearing Extreme Heat on bare lips, and the edges appear slightly blurred from the “heat,” which I personally enjoy. This is noteworthy, considering my history of reactions to cinnamon-based lip plumpers. These glosses utilize capsicum extract, which I can tolerate well, providing a pleasant cooling effect (similar to Charlotte Tilbury’s Plumpgasm).

The only aspect I wish could be improved in these lip glosses is their longevity. The consistency leans towards a thinner, non-sticky formula, which many prefer, but this does result in a shorter wear time. At work, I find myself needing to reapply every one to two hours, especially when worn alone. When I layer them over a lipstick, their staying power improves somewhat.

Final verdict: Despite their limited staying power, I genuinely enjoy these lip glosses and have been using them for a couple of years now. The playful packaging and the adorable appearance of each gloss are highlights for me. The color shades are subtle, making them versatile for anyone. If you decide to purchase them individually, I recommend the red and black shades as my personal favorites!
