Last week, my friend Gerry and I enjoyed our annual shopping spree and catch-up session, a delightful tradition we embrace after adhering to a low-buy lifestyle post-holidays. While we typically change our shopping destination each year, this time we decided to explore Downtown, where everything is conveniently located. Our adventure began at Lush in Pacific Centre, where I was excited to return 10 black tubs (5 for Gerry and 5 for myself) to redeem for new Fresh Face Masks. I chose the Enzymatic Cleanser, but we couldn’t resist browsing through the myriad of other tempting goodies on display!
During our visit, we were thrilled to discover many cute new launches for Mother’s Day, including the charming Queen Bee Sheet Mask! Initially, I was under the impression that Lush would require me to create my own mask, as the product appeared to be in separate pieces. To my relief and amusement, it turned out to be perfectly rolled up and ready to use!
This luxurious mask is infused with activated charcoal for deep cleansing, soothing aloe, and a blend of orange juice and bergamot peel extract to leave your skin feeling radiant and refreshed. Additionally, it boasts the famous Lush scent “Honey, I Washed the Kids,” a delightful toffee fragrance that I would happily enjoy daily.
I have now successfully reused this mask 3 times! Curious about others’ experiences, I checked the Lush website for reviews, and to my surprise, I found a plethora of negative feedback, mainly due to the masks tearing during the initial application. I must admit, I faced a challenge when trying to unfold the mask for the first time, taking nearly 10 minutes just to peel it away from the compostable plastic. The eye and mouth sections were particularly delicate, requiring me to be extremely cautious to avoid ripping them. I was genuinely concerned about having to apply the mask in pieces, but thankfully, I managed to keep it intact. For my subsequent uses, I simply rolled it back up, stored it in the same plastic, and placed it in the fridge, which eliminated any issues with peeling!
The recommended method for applying this mask is to do so immediately after cleansing your face. Although I occasionally used toner, this mask is most effective on slightly damp skin. Let me tell you, applying this mask straight from the fridge feels absolutely divine! The cooling sensation is incredibly refreshing, making it a delightful experience.

Mask Summary:
Price: $12 CDN and can be used for up to one week!
What it does: Hydrates and soothes
Scent: Honey, I Washed the Kids! This is a toffee scent that is one of my most favourite scents from Lush!
Essence Type: None! It’s so weird, but the mask still works!
Duration: 10 minutes
Thickness: She THICK and heavy
Mask Fit: It’s heavy, and the areas with the black bands are double-layered, which helps keep the mask snugly in place, especially when standing. However, it fits better around the chin when you lie down.
Tackiness: None at all.
Hydration: Surprisingly effective! While you may want to follow up with a moisturizer, I found myself alternating between not using one and applying the Naturium Multi-Peptide Moisturizer after removing the mask.
Other notes: N/A
I believe this is a limited edition release, so be sure to grab your Lush Queen Bee Sheet Mask while it’s still available in stores!
