BROWS
For my brows, I used Sigma Brow Control Wax Pencil and KVD Aubergine brow wax to achieve a polished look.
EYES
The eye makeup includes Nyx Glitter Eye Primer, KVD Violet Aurora Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadow, and Karla Insomnia Loose Eyeshadow. To define my eyes further, I applied Nabla Black Cupid’s Arrow Longwear Stylo and finished with Fenty 105 Pro Filt’r Powder and Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara for voluminous lashes.
FACE
For the face, I utilized Wet n’ Wild Impossible Primer, Huda Beauty Angel Food Fauxfilter Stick for a flawless base, Rare Beauty Positive Light Under Eye Brightener, and Laura Mercier Undereye Setting Powder to set everything in place. I added a pop of color with bareMinerals Rose Glow Blush and highlighted my cheeks with BlackMoon Catshark Highlighter.
LIPS
On my lips, I opted for Buxom Creamy Chocolate Powerline Lip Liner and Urban Decay Indie Sleaze Glossy Liquid Lipstick, finishing with a touch of Karla Insomnia Loose Eyeshadow for added dimension.
In-Depth Review of KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadow

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with the KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows. I purchased all three shades: Violet Aurora (a stunning purple blue shimmer with a black base), Green Nebula (a vibrant emerald green shimmer also with a black base), and Blue Shift (teal blue shimmer with a black base). However, I must express my disappointment regarding the $24 price tag combined with the extremely short shelf life of just 6 months. It’s surprising that neither KVD’s official website nor Ulta’s site mentions this concerning expiration period.
Understanding the Implications of a 6 Month Shelf-Life for Eyeshadows
What makes the 6-month shelf life a concern? At the premium price of $24, I find it nearly impossible to use up all three eyeshadows in such a short timeframe, even with regular daily application. Realistically, it’s challenging to finish a single eyeshadow within just 6 months! Given this price point, I firmly believe that a shelf life of at least 2 years (24 months) is more appropriate for eyeshadows to ensure customers can fully enjoy their products.
Examining the Color Shift in KVD Dazzle Gel Eyeshadows
The KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows exhibit a subtle color shift rather than strong multichrome effects, lacking the rich interference pigments that typically enhance duochrome and multichrome appearances. The eyeshadows feature a robust black base that blends seamlessly, providing a soft shift in color. Violet Aurora reveals a delicate purple blue on black, often appearing indigo with a predominant blue tone. Green Nebula showcases a lovely golden green shift on a black base, while Blue Shift glimmers with a bright teal blue shimmer, deepening into a velvety blue.
Should You Invest in All Three Shades?
Based on my experience, I do not recommend purchasing all three of the KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows as I initially did. If I could redo my purchase, I would opt for just Violet Aurora and Green Nebula. These two shades are versatile and can be incorporated into various eye makeup looks, maximizing their use within the limited shelf life.
Despite their short shelf life, the KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows are undeniably gorgeous. I appreciate the dazzling sparkle they provide, even in low-light conditions, making them a great addition to any makeup collection.
You can use the KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows as versatile eyeshadows, applying them evenly for a diffused look or using a small angled brush for graphic liner applications. I particularly enjoy using these as a base for other multichrome eyeshadows. I apply the gel as a base, blend it out with a brush as demonstrated in this tutorial, and then layer another duochrome or multichrome on top for added dimension.
Enjoying the KVD Dazzle Gel Eyeshadow Experience: My Final Thoughts

I’m truly enjoying my experience with the KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows, despite a few drawbacks. If you’re a fan of liquid or cream eyeshadows and seeking a fun, effortless way to integrate them into your makeup routine, I highly recommend trying one of these stunning KVD eyeshadows.
