As a foundation enthusiast, I see it as an essential part of my beauty routine, and I am often inclined to invest in high-quality foundations over other makeup products. The notion of “makeup that acts like skincare” is not entirely novel, but after several months of using Youthforia almost daily, I can confidently say that their formulation and packaging excel beyond those of other “clean beauty brands” I’ve encountered.

This innovative serum-like foundation boasts buildable coverage and is formulated with 68% skincare actives, enhanced by a patented tannin complex. This unique combination allows the foundation to seamlessly melt into the skin, resulting in an incredibly smooth finish while effectively controlling sebum production. This means that the foundation remains intact and fresh throughout the day, resisting the wear and tear of a busy lifestyle. While the brand claims you can sleep in it, I personally wouldn’t recommend doing so; however, it serves as an excellent travel companion, especially for long journeys where you might cross multiple time zones.

Currently, the range offers only 15 shades, which is somewhat limited in terms of inclusivity. However, the brand assures that these shades are designed to be “flexible,” accommodating a variety of skin tones both lighter and darker. I look forward to seeing further expansion in their shade offerings as the brand grows and evolves, ensuring that more individuals can find their perfect match.

As I experimented with various application techniques, from using my fingers to brushes and beauty sponges, I found that using my fingers and a brush yielded the best results. Surprisingly, even though I am typically a beauty sponge enthusiast, I discovered that just half a pump of this foundation was sufficient for my entire face, demonstrating its efficiency and effectiveness.

This foundation exceeded my expectations in terms of coverage. Initially, I applied just a few dots, blending them with my fingers, and was pleasantly surprised by its lightweight feel and medium coverage. The texture is reminiscent of a serum, providing a barely-there sensation on the skin. Additionally, it delivers a subtle dewy finish, which allows those who prefer a matte look to skip powder, while still maintaining a fresh and vibrant appearance. Personally, I enjoy a dewy, hydrated feel for my skincare routine, so this foundation aligns perfectly with my preferences!

When I switched to using my Juno & Co. velvet sponge for application, I was amazed at how quickly the foundation provided full coverage! I still only needed half a pump for my entire face and neck. The brush application was slightly easier to blend the inky serum texture, and while the initial high coverage was surprising, it improved throughout the day, transitioning into a more natural, skin-like appearance. On days when I only need coverage on specific areas, I use my fingers, and my skin continues to look radiant!

Even after a grueling 12-hour day, my foundation still looked remarkably good. I didn’t experience excessive oiliness around my T-zone, and the foundation appeared to meld with my skin beautifully as the day progressed. Even with a setting powder, I found that I could easily layer the BYO Blush on top without disturbing the underlying layers of makeup, which is a testament to its impressive formulation.

My Final Thoughts on Youthforia Foundation: After wearing this foundation every day since my purchase in November, I can confidently say it has become a holy grail product for me. I adore everything about it—from the elegant frosted glass packaging to the vibrant purple cap. The lightweight formula effortlessly transitions from a natural look to high coverage, and the most impressive aspect is how much better it appears the longer it’s on my skin. I can only imagine how radiant I will look after a long-haul flight! As a Canadian, the price point is on the higher side, but I firmly believe it surpasses many other foundations I’ve tried. I anticipate finishing this bottle by the end of the year!
