As I pen this, it’s still midweek, so the spirit of ManiMonday is still alive, right? I often find myself overflowing with creative ideas for blog content on my days off, only to get sidetracked by various tasks that lead me to need a quick nap. Suddenly, it’s 4 PM, and dinner preparations demand my attention, causing the day to slip away before I realize it! Recently, my Instagram stories have been lacking in beauty updates, and I’m unsure why. I have been experimenting with a variety of exciting beauty products but either forget to share my thoughts or simply lack the energy to do so. August was particularly taxing, and I’m still in recovery mode, allowing myself the much-needed time for self-care, whether that’s indulging in naps, online shopping, tidying up, or even building LEGO. While I don’t have a concrete plan to ramp up my blog content just yet, October feels promising—especially since it marks the 12th anniversary of Cosmetic Proof. I believe it’s time to elevate my content during that milestone month!

So far, I haven’t shared my thoughts on the latest nail polish collection on Instagram due to an unfortunate incident where one polish spilled and affected 11 other bottles. However, I’m excited to announce the arrival of OPI’s Fall Collection featuring the Big Zodiac Energy collection! Each polish is inspired by a zodiac sign, and unfortunately, the one that broke was Leo, a striking metallic yellow. Not to worry, though; my swatches of this polish weren’t entirely to my taste, as it appeared somewhat streaky upon application. For today’s nail art, I sought out rich fall shades and initially thought that #Virgoals would be more opaque than it actually turned out to be. Thankfully, I had an opaque base color underneath, which helped tremendously. I used a nail art stencil to create my design, and I’m delighted with the final result, especially the interplay of different finishes!
