I had the privilege of meeting a Vietnamese boat person who bravely escaped at just five years old; she recounted her harrowing journey, which included nearly drowning and suffering an infection that left her deaf in one ear. Her story is a powerful testament to resilience in the face of adversity, and it truly highlights the importance of supporting such crucial organizations.
