Dr. Holly Gunn is an accredited board certified dermatologist with more than 25 years of experience in the medical field. She is known for helping her patients achieve their dream skin while providing exceptional and relational patient care.

She has been called the skin guru for a reason! People visit her for all types of skin issues such as acne scarring, wrinkles, sun spots and other signs of aging. She is passionate about skin cancer prevention and has published articles in dermatology and psychology journals for her research and experience in dermatologic diseases. Gunn Dermatology is your go to neighborhood dermatologist for all ages, people and skin types.

Q: Describe your practice’s area of ​​expertise.

A: We pride ourselves on being skilled at diagnosing and treating skin diseases in patients of all ages and ethnicities. A few of our specialties include treating acne, wrinkles, rashes, infections, and skin cancer.

We are also known for our personalized cosmetic treatment plans. Our personalized plans are crafted during a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Gunn. She addresses your areas of concern and recommends the best course of action to achieve your healthiest and strongest skin.

One of our favorite procedures to perform is Vivace. It’s essentially a non-invasive facelift that tightens the skin and turns back the clock. Whatever your concern is, we are here to help.

Q: What type of services do you offer?

A: We offer innovative pediatric, medical, surgical, cosmetic and aesthetic services. Included in our services are skin radiation treatment, cryotherapy, cosmetic and surgical procedures, skin cancer removals, head-to-toe skin exams, acne treatments and much more.

We are experts in detecting skin cancers. Most skin cancer removals can be performed under local anesthesia in our office but larger skin cancers or skin cancers in certain areas require Mohs surgery and are referred for the best treatment options. We also provide skin radiation treatment — high-energy radiation to kill cancer cells and prevent scarring and future growth.

Additionally, we stay up to date with the evolving world of cosmetic procedures. We are very transparent about our prices and know they are comparative to other board-certified dermatologists and plastic surgeons in the area. We even offer memberships, so we can provide our patients the best possible care at the most affordable prices.

Q: How long have you been in business or practicing?

A: I have more than 14 years of experience in the dermatology field. We opened Gunn Dermatology in Crestline in August of 2020. We are thrilled for our second location coming to Mountain Brook Village this fall.

Q: Describe your educational and experiential background.

A: I attended medical school at University of South Alabama and completed most of my dermatology training in Pennsylvania. I worked in private practice for several years and most recently served as the assistant professor of Dermatology and the director of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Dermatology Cosmetic and Laser Clinic.

Q: What is your approach or philosophy to patient care?

A: We strive to provide our patients of all ages with honest, efficient, organic and excellent care delivered in a personable and compassionate environment.

We cultivate a safe place for every patient to confide in us their deepest skincare concerns. We are invested in each patient’s results with the goal in mind to make them look and feel more confident in their day to day lives.

Q: What’s the most rewarding part about working here?

A: This has been the best adventure I could have imagined. Knowing that we are changing people’s lives by giving them the most confidence they’ve ever had — not only in their skin, but in themselves. Through our most cutting-edge technologies and An individualized approach, we are able to consistently deliver high-quality skincare.
