A good fragrance garners compliments when applied. A great fragrance, however, etches itself in one’s memory, almost becoming an extension of that person. With a single whiff you are able to relate it to a personality type, a cherished moment, or even a specific person—and that’s what makes the choice a rather personal one. Imbibing this very thought, Tom Ford Ombré Leather Parfum tells a story loved by many. An ode to the wild American west, the fragrance encapsulates memories straight out of its namesake’s childhood. Think cowboys riding horseback, brown leather saddles, clinking stirrups and tumbleweed rolling down the dusty pathway. It sounds like a cinematic version of a Clint Eastwood western––and, that’s exactly what it is, sans the testosterone driven standoffs.
There is something about this fragrance that fits in harmoniously with many—even the esteemed jury of The Vogue Beauty Festival 2022. Bagging the award for best evening fragrance, clearly this perfume hit the right notes. Why so? Well, the perfume speaks for itself .

1. The notes
Fragrance family: Floral Leather
Floral leather—sounds contradictory, doesn’t it? The revised Tom Ford Ombré Leather Parfum narrates the same story from its 2018 past—but this script is far more intense. An amalgamation of distinct floral and leather notes seamlessly merge into each other. The fragrance opens up to top notes of violet leaf and cedarwood, the former being the surprisingly refreshing addition to this rendition of the iconic fragrance. The heart notes of jasmine sambac and orris take the scent to a familiar floral zone, before the sensual base notes of leather, wood, and tobacco start to settle in. The contrast between the floral-fruity start and the oaky, smoky finish, is what gives this fragrance its signature accord.
2. Gender-neutral
A ‘wild wild west’ story may leave you with a masculine aftertaste, however, Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather Parfum stays gender-neutral. The fragrance begins its journey with a warm and spicy splash, but the carefully harvested Indian jasmine sambac, smoothly transitions a floral and feminine sense. Unlike your typical leather fragrance, the Ombré Leather doesn’t overpower either. The notes strike the right balance, making it a great unisex fragrance meant for all.
3. The bottle
The fragrance is housed in an opaque bold, black, and beautiful leather-cased glass bottle. Leather wrapped in leathera little on the nose, but no one’s complaining. Its luxe packaging complements what lies inside and makes for a great addition to any vanity.
