The formula promises an impressive “bold color payoff” with “one effortless swipe,” designed to last for up to 16 hours while delivering a “powdery matte finish” and a “lightweight feel.” Upon application, the lipsticks are indeed pigmented and matte, providing a fairly lightweight and flexible wear once fully dried. However, it’s important to note that they can be lightly to moderately drying, and not every shade performs uniformly. The lighter shades tend to feel thicker on the lips, requiring longer to dry and often breaking down unevenly after meals, especially from the center of the lips.
Conversely, the mid-tone and deeper shades generally offer better application and a more comfortable wearing experience. These darker shades are formulated to be thinner, thus accommodating various lip textures and minimizing the appearance of fine lines. They also tend to wear away more evenly over time. One significant drawback during the drying phase is the tackiness that arises; touching the lips together can lift the product and result in uneven application. Some shades may take up to three minutes to fully set, while others can set in about a minute.
The lighter shades typically last about five to six hours before becoming noticeably uneven, necessitating a complete reapplication. In contrast, the darker shades hold up well for six to eight hours and may even linger into the tenth hour with reasonable integrity. While I found the formula to lean slightly on the drying side, it is not the worst I’ve encountered in my experience with liquid lipsticks.
A noticeable floral fragrance is present upon opening the tube and during the drying process, but it tends to dissipate once the product is fully set. This aspect may enhance the overall experience for some users, although others may find it less appealing.
