- Chocolates might be a cause of acne. There’s no research that says that chocolates are a cause of acne or that chocolates might make your acne worse. However, if you are suffering from acne, it is best that you switch to dark chocolate as the other varieties might have added sugar in them.
- Oily food is a cause of acne. Oily or greasy food alone can never be the cause of acne. There might be other underlying health conditions that contribute to the acne. However, if you eat greasy food regularly, it might lead to inflammations in the body which eventually leads to acne.
- Oily skin people get acne. The most common myth of all time is that only oily-skinned people get acne. Acne could be a cause of hormonal changes in the body and that might lead to excessive oil production in the skin. This excess oil that is produced clogs the pores and leads to acne. Anybody with oily skin doesn’t get acne.
- Gluten can be a cause of acne. There are some skin conditions, like that of eczema which might be triggered due to gluten. However, there’s no link between gluten and acne and avoid gluten only if your doctor has asked you to do so.
