The innovative formula is designed to “visibly smooth, blur, mattify [and] hydrate” your lips with just “one swipe,” claiming to last for an impressive “12 hours.” You can achieve a “blurred” effect by applying the product to the center of the lips and then using your fingertip to “blend and blur” it outwards. Alternatively, for a more striking “bold” look, apply it directly with the applicator for full coverage.
However, the product achieves a truly matte finish only when applied “blurred.” The pigmentation can be intense, as there is often more product on the applicator than needed. Even using one side of the applicator typically provides sufficient product for application. The texture delivers a lightweight, velvety sensation that feels moderately emollient, resembling a silicone-like finish.
For a “bold” application that appears more matte, it’s advisable to gently blot the lips after the initial application. This step helps to remove excess shine and some of the surplus product. The “blurred” application does sheer out, as expected, leading to a more matte appearance due to the thinner layer applied and the fingertip absorbing some of the emollience.
While wearing the product sheerly, I noticed it didn’t effectively smooth or blur my lips, often highlighting lip texture and settling into lip lines over time. The sheer application lasted about four hours. In contrast, the “bold” application proved to be more forgiving, offering a slightly smoothing effect and lasting between five to seven hours, although it fell short of the advertised 12 hours. Throughout wear, the lip blur provided light hydration.
Notably, the product emits a sweet, vanilla-like scent without any discernible taste, making it an enjoyable experience.
