Currently, I am grappling with a bothersome cold, and even as I reach Day 6, my symptoms of increasing congestion and persistent coughing continue to plague me. Typically, colds tend to resolve much faster than this, and by now, I should ideally be experiencing the bliss of recovery. Instead, I find myself squandering my precious 3-day vacation, longing to engage in activities I had eagerly planned, such as leisurely walks in the sunshine, dedicating time to blogging, and indulging in restorative sleep when my body signals its need. To add to my frustration, I can’t pinpoint the source of this illness! Strangely, no one at my workplace is ill, my husband is symptom-free, and it hardly feels like cold season. It almost seems as if my body has concocted this ailment as a gentle reminder that I need to rest, even though I believe I haven’t overexerted myself. Feeling under the weather pushed me to tell myself, “Jayne, you need to take a moment for self-care and at least pamper your nails today!”

Weeks ago, I unfortunately broke my middle nail, but I made the conscious decision to let it grow out until it could match the length of my other nails. Even now, we are not entirely there yet, but thankfully, the differences in length are minimal enough that they are less noticeable in nail art. Today marks the first occasion in about a month that I have taken the time to paint my nails, which speaks volumes about my current state of mind and my priorities in life. While I still harbor a deep affection for beauty and cosmetics, I have found myself gravitating towards other hobbies that capture my interest more during my downtime. Although Cosmetic Proof is very much alive and thriving, I anticipate that moving forward, it will transform into a publication that appears 1-2 times a week, catering to just me and those who enjoy indulging in lengthy reviews!
Today, I was absolutely determined to wear this delightful pink shade called “Sweet Villainy” from the Sally Hansen Minions collection. To enhance the look, I added cheerful white polka dots, which, to me, always signify that spring has officially arrived. I have a feeling that I possess a similar pink shade somewhere in my extensive nail polish collection, but the real charm lies in the fact that this one features a minion on the cap! No other polish can compete with that unique touch!
I sincerely hope that everyone enjoyed a delightful weekend and that your week is off to a fantastic start!
