EDWARDSVILLE – An Alton man was charged with residential burglary after an Aug. 21 incident in that city.
Ronald L. Singleton, 58, of Alton, was charged Aug. 22 with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony.
The case was presented by the Alton Police Department.
According to court documents, on Aug. 21 Singleton allegedly entered a home in Alton without permission to commit theft.
Bail was set at $50,000.
Other felony charges filed Aug. 22 by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office include:
• Patrick R. Mayes, 43, listed as homeless out of Petersburg, Illinois, was charged with burglary, a Class 2 felony; and criminal trespass to a residence, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office . According to court documents, on Aug. 21 Mayes allegedly entered a garage in New Douglas to commit theft and entered a residence in New Douglas while the occupant was present. Bail was set at $50,000.
• Eric C. Brueggeman, 46, of Cottage Hills, was charged with offenses relating to motor vehicles, a Class 2 felony; and driving while license revoked, a Class A misdemeanor. The case was presented by the East Alton Police Department. On Aug . 20 Brueggeman allegedly had a reported stolen 2014 Ford Escape and was driving it in East Alton with a revoked driver’s license. His license was revoked due to a 2021 DUI conviction. Bail was set at $30,000.
• Billy J. Hoskins, 55, of Pontoon Beach, was charged with retail theft under $300 (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department. On Aug. 19 Hoskins allegedly took cleaning and body care products, crayons and headphones valued at less than $300 from the Dollar General in Granite City. He has a conviction for retail theft out of Madison County on Dec. 1, 2021. Bail was set at $20,000.
• Nathan D. Brown, 39, listed as homeless out of Collinsville, was charged with retail theft under $300 (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Collinsville Police Department. On Aug. 13 Brown allegedly took two fire pits valued at less than $300 from Rural King in Collinsville. He has a 2012 conviction for retail theft over $300 out of Madison County. Bail was set at $20,000.
• Stacy A. Lindley, 48, of Alton, was charged with obstructing justice, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the East Alton Police Department. On Aug. 19 Lindley allegedly gave false information to a Madison County sheriff’s deputy, resulting in in her being booked under a false name. Bail was set at $40,000.
