Winnie Harlow Launches Cay Skin

Winnie Harlow is the latest celebrity getting into the beauty game with the launch of CAY Skin, a line of skincare products that keep skin healthy, glowing, and protected from the sun all year round. Inspired by the Jamaican beaches (Cays) and a nod to the model’s Jamaican heritage, the collection features lightweight and breathable sun care formulas made with gentle island-based ingredients and high-performance skincare actives.

The trailblazing model has shot iconic fashion campaigns at beautiful locations all over the world. However, on an outdoor photoshoot in 2018, Harlow was discouraged to wear sunscreen for fear that it would leave a white or purple cast on her skin. As a result, she experienced a severe sunburn that led to her requiring urgent medical care and ultimately altered her vitiligo forever — a pivotal turning point for Harlow and her mission realized to create sun care for everyone.

“My experience deepened my conviction to create sun care products that are both comfortable to wear every day, and effective at providing truly invisible protection for everyone under the sun,” Harlow says in a statement. “Traditional sunscreens are notorious for being heavy, uncomfortable , not wearing well under makeup, and worst of all, leaving a white or purple cast, especially on people of color. This has led to so many people I know skimping on sun care in everyday life.”
