Hello everyone! Today, I’m excited to share a review of a relatively new face mask on this extremely rainy and cool June Sunday in Vancouver. While much of Canada is enjoying warm summer weather, we are still bundled up in raincoats and sweaters. Given the weather, it’s the perfect opportunity for some blogging! I’ll be putting in a few hours on this and then calling it an early night in preparation for an early morning training session, ensuring I’m well-rested for my 10-hour workday ahead!
Many of you might be familiar with the brand Dr. Dennis Gross, renowned for its effective chemical peels. Personally, I’m a huge fan of the Alpha Beta Peels; I keep several boxes handy as they are gentle enough to use daily on both my face and body. When I discovered last year that they released a biocellulose mask infused with LACTIC ACID and VITAMIN C, I couldn’t resist purchasing a box during the Fall VIB event. I’ve been enjoying the results of this mask, even though there are a few minor aspects that make me hesitate in giving it my full recommendation.

What sets this mask apart from others? This innovative biocellulose mask is crafted from fermented coconut fibers, allowing it to adhere perfectly to every contour of the face. Biocellulose is not only effective but is also known for its healing and hydrating properties. What makes this mask particularly intriguing is the inclusion of lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that is seldom found in sheet masks, along with L-ascorbic acid, which is the active form of vitamin C. Additionally, it contains brightening niacinamide and white tea extract, making these the top ingredients for revitalizing the skin. Notably, there are no added fragrances, ensuring what you smell is purely the natural essence of the ingredients!

I previously mentioned on my Instagram stories that I noticed the mask package contained minimal essence, and I found the mask itself to be quite thin for its price point. Additionally, since there is no added fragrance, the mask does have a slightly medicinal scent, which may not appeal to everyone.

Comprehensive Mask Overview:
Price: $16.50 each / $62 for a box of 4
Benefits: Restores hydration to dry, visibly damaged skin, delivering an energized and radiant glow.
Fragrance Profile: If you have ever encountered “real Vitamin C serum” without added fragrances, this is precisely what the mask smells like. It has a slightly sweet yet predominantly medicinal scent. Typically, biocellulose masks are low in fragrance, making this one particularly distinctive.
Essence Characteristics: Slightly watery with a brown/yellow hue. However, the package does not include much essence.
Recommended Duration: 15-20 minutes for optimal results.
Material Thickness: Very thin, which might not be suitable for everyone.
Fit and Comfort: Overall fit is good, like most biocellulose masks; however, I would have preferred a thicker option for enhanced comfort.
Post-Application Feel: No tackiness remains, which is typical for biocellulose masks.
Hydration Results: The hydration effect is surprisingly impressive! I did not apply any additional moisturizer afterward, but I had the option to do so if desired.
Additional Observations: After removing the mask, my skin appeared incredibly radiant and revitalized!
