    New Delhi: Everyday there are several skincare products that is launched in the market and with that there is an increasing need for consumers to understand what is good for them and what is not. Every single product isn’t designed for every skin type and keeping that in mind , one needs to buy their products.
    Every skincare product is supposed to address a certain skin concern and there’s no product that can be universally used by everyone. Therefore, one needs to understand their skin before buying the products. Moreover, they also need to read the ingredient list and understand what the product actually addresses. Here, take a look at some of the things that you should keep in mind before you invest in skincare products.
    1. Keep a check on the ingredient list: The ingredient list of a product will tell you if the product is actually capable of addressing the issues that it claims. Moreover, for products such as sunscreens and serums, checking the ingredient list becomes all the more important.
    2. Keep a check on your skin type from time to time: For some people, their skin type changes depending on their hormone levels, weather, pollution and several other factors. Therefore, try and buy products that are made for your skin at that point of time.
    3. Avoid certain ingredients: There are certain ingredients that should be avoided in skincare products. Parabens, sulfates, fragrances and ingredients like these can make irritate your skin and should be avoided at all costs.
    4. Understand your skin type: Every single skincare product caters to a certain skin type and it is important that you know what is your skin type. It could be oily or dry or combination or normal. It all depends on the amount of oil produced from your skin.
    5. Keep a check on the pH levels of the products: Your skincare products should neither be too acidic nor too alkaline. Therefore avoid products that are on two of the extreme ends. Also, avoid using facial cleansers that are too alkaline in nature.
