Hello, Hex Squad! I’m excited to present my About Face Holographic Eye Paint Total Eclipse Makeup Inspiration for you today. If you’ve been following Phyrra for a while, you might know that orange is one of the less frequently used colors in my makeup repertoire. However, I’m challenging myself to venture beyond my usual palette and embrace this vibrant hue. I’ve heard that orange can enhance and highlight blue eyes, so I thought it would be fun to give it a go and see how this striking color can work for me.
Where to Buy
You can find it at Ulta.
Price
The retail price is $18.
Currently, the About Face Holographic Eye Paints are available exclusively on Ulta’s website, with no listings on About Face’s official site. The collection features seven stunning shades, and I’ve opted for Total Eclipse (a striking orange-red), Luna (a mesmerizing yellow to green to blue), Inner World (a captivating blue to purple), and Intuition (a vibrant fuchsia to purple). Each shade has its unique charm, allowing for endless creative possibilities.

FASHION HIGHLIGHTS
I’m wearing ISLY NYC Gemini Earrings and a Midnight Hour 90s Inspired Choker Top for a stylish touch.
BROWS THAT WOW
I used Flower Beauty Plum Cream and Chrome pencil (cruelty-free) and Nyx Clear The Brow Glue (vegan) to achieve a polished look.
STUNNING EYES
For my eye makeup, I applied Melt Melt-It Liquid Eyeshadow in Vanilla (vegan and talc free), complemented by Devinah Raven’s Frost eyeshadow (vegan) (use code CORDELIA to save), the PR Black Moon Cold and New (from the Orb of Light Full Moon Palette), About Face Holographic Eye Paint Total Eclipse (vegan), and finished with Tarte Double Take Liquid & Gel Vegan Eyeliner in Black (vegan), the Nyx Retractable Vivid Rich Mechanical Eyeliner Pencil in Quartz Queen (vegan), and Covergirl Ultramarine Black Lash Blast Cleantopia Ultramarine Mascara (vegan).

CHOOSE YOUR LIP LOOK
OPTION 1: GRACEFUL GLOW
I used Melt Handcuffs Lip Pencil (discontinued; consider a dark grey lip pencil from Nyx) (cruelty-free) and topped it off with Half-Magic Frosty B*tch Magic Drip Glitter Lip Gloss (vegan).
OPTION 2: WARMTH WITH A TWIST
For a different vibe, I opted for Buxom Hush Hush Henna Power Line Plumping Lip Liner (cruelty-free) paired with Half-Magic Frosty B*tch Magic Drip Glitter Lip Gloss (vegan).
Initially, I was torn between lip colors for my About Face Holographic Eye Paint Total Eclipse look. I first tried a dark grey lip pencil layered with a sheer peach gloss, but it didn’t meet my expectations. Then, I shifted to a warmer lip color that I believed would harmonize with the orange liner and blush. The Buxom Hush Hush Henna, a warm cinnamon pink, felt surprisingly flattering, even though it’s warmer than my usual choices. Which lip option appeals to you the most?

Understanding the Allure of Orange and Grey Combinations

Recently, while watching stunning drone footage of Iceland, Dave and I were captivated by the striking contrast of dark grey cliffs adorned with vibrant orange autumn foliage. This breathtaking scenery inspired me to recreate a similar aesthetic with my About Face Holographic Eye Paint Total Eclipse makeup look. I’m eager to experiment with orange and grey combinations again, possibly incorporating a neon orange for an even more daring effect next time.
When experimenting with challenging colors like orange, one of the best strategies I recommend is to play with the opacity and intensity. You might discover that a softer version of the color is much more flattering than a bold statement.
