In 2019, I embarked on a journey with Grande Cosmetics’ GrandeLASH-MD Lash Enhancing Serum. The results were astonishing; my eyelashes reached lengths I had never imagined, leading to daily compliments about their natural beauty. It felt like a dream come true, with my lashes turning heads everywhere I went. This serum transformed my look, making my eyes pop and giving me the confidence I had always desired.
Throughout my experience with GrandeLASH serum, I was pleased to find that it caused no irritation, and there was no noticeable discoloration along my lash line, nor any changes in my eye color. It became a simple part of my nightly routine, effortlessly applied before bed, and I envisioned using it indefinitely. It felt like it was just me and Grande against the world, creating a beautiful bond.
However, while I was reveling in my lash transformation, I was also battling severe melasma. I invested over $2500 in laser treatments and prescription topicals in hopes of minimizing this challenging skin condition, which left me feeling frustrated and self-conscious.
Then, out of the blue, two different individuals reached out to me on Instagram, both of whom were aware of my struggles with melasma. They shared shocking insights that made me rethink my approach to skincare.
Understanding the Hormonal Impact of Lash Serums
Both individuals had received advice from different medical professionals—a nurse injector and an esthetician—about a potential connection between the prostaglandin hormone in lash serums and facial discoloration. One even mentioned that after stopping the use of lash growth serums, her melasma significantly improved. That revelation was all it took for me to reconsider my beauty routine.
Despite having some melasma for years, I noticed a marked increase in its severity after 2019 when I consistently used both GrandeLASH and GrandeBROW serums. I’ve captured this progression in photos, and I might share those on my Instagram if there’s interest.
In addition to the discoloration issue, I also became aware of the potential risk of periorbital fat loss linked to lash growth serums. As someone with naturally prominent eyes, I am already concerned about the loss of collagen as I approach my 40s, so I definitely didn’t want to exacerbate any sunken appearance.
Given these insights, I was eager to explore a hormone-free alternative to traditional lash growth serums. Fortunately, Vegamour reached out to me, offering their hormone-free GRO Lash Serum for me to try.
Unlike most serums that contain prostaglandin analogues, Vegamour’s formula features a blend of peptides, red clover, and mung bean to promote natural hair growth without hormonal side effects.
With a heavy heart, I decided to stop using GrandeLASH and began the slow process of watching my eyelashes revert to their natural state, which was quite disappointing and a bit melancholic.

Evaluating My Experience with Vegamour GRO Lash Serum
I diligently applied Vegamour’s GRO Lash Serum twice each day as instructed. There were instances when I accidentally got the serum in my eyes, which resulted in a stinging sensation, followed by redness and irritation the next day.
The unedited images below display my results after 10 weeks of consistent use. My before photos were taken on June 30, and I began using Vegamour GRO Lash Serum the following day, July 1st. The after images showcase the results after eight weeks, taken on September 14th.

Initially, when I wore mascara, I thought I noticed an increase in lash length. The car selfie below captures that moment of optimism.
However, a closer look at my detailed before-and-after photos reveals that there is, in fact, absolutely no difference in the length of my lashes. It’s quite puzzling because I genuinely felt that it was working somewhat. Instead, I found that my lashes appeared shorter in the after images, which was a surprising and disappointing realization.
