Hello, beautiful people! Today, I’m excited to share my comprehensive review of fair foundations swatches tailored specifically for our fair-skinned community. As someone who is always on the hunt for the ideal foundation—one that provides light to medium coverage, effectively blurs imperfections and pores, minimizes the appearance of fine lines, and ideally comes in a convenient stick format—I’ve gathered a wealth of products to discuss with you. My journey has led me to discover various formulations, and I can’t wait to share these insights with you.
Every product featured in this review has been personally purchased in my quest for the perfect foundation. It’s important to note that all opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own, reflecting my genuine experiences with each product.
Understanding My Unique Skin Tone and Undertones
To accurately identify my skin undertones, I’ve consulted several professional makeup artists, including my dear friend Mickey. They all reach a consensus that I fall into the category of very fair neutral cool. After experiencing sun exposure, my skin tends to take on a subtle cool olive-yellow hue post-burn and peel. While I strive to minimize sun exposure to maintain my complexion, I did have an unfortunate incident at a Highland Games event after the COVID lockdown. Therefore, you can consider my skin tone to be very fair neutral cool; my best foundation matches are found in the fair neutral and fair cool shades.
If you’re navigating the world of foundation shades and trying to determine your own undertones, I highly recommend investing in a consultation with a professional makeup artist rather than relying on the average sales associate at beauty retailers like Sephora or Ulta. It’s worth noting that you can indeed hire professional makeup artists at Sephora; just ensure they have the necessary expertise.

Insights into My Fair Foundation Purchases
It’s worth noting that I consistently find myself gravitating towards the fairest shades available in foundation lines. Whenever I stray and purchase anything other than the lightest shade, it invariably turns out to be overly saturated for my delicate skin tone—too yellow, too orange, too pink, or simply too dark. This consistent disappointment has led me to focus solely on the fairest shades available in my quest for a flawless match. What I truly need are desaturated fair cool neutrals that complement my complexion.
Comprehensive Fair Foundations Swatches Review
To provide you with an accurate representation, I took an array of photographs of my fair foundations swatches under various lighting conditions: indoors under artificial light, outdoors in direct sunlight, and indoors in indirect sunlight. This way, you can see how the foundations perform and appear in different settings.

Exploring Huda Beauty’s Foundation Range
While I haven’t had the opportunity to fully test the Huda Beauty Easy Blur Natural Airbrush Foundation in Milkshake 100B yet, I eagerly awaited its sale on both Sephora and Huda’s official website for what felt like an eternity. It’s important to highlight that among foundations crafted by prominent figures in the beauty industry, such as Huda, Rihanna (Fenty), or KVD, only Huda’s foundations have truly worked for my particular skin type. Although KVD and Fenty offer impressive shade ranges, they simply do not cater to my dry skin. Despite my best efforts, I struggled to achieve a flattering look with their products, except for their pressed powder foundations. In contrast, Huda’s foundations consistently yield satisfactory results for me.
I’ve found that the Huda #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Foundation in 100B Milkshake performs admirably on my skin, even though the strong fragrance can be overwhelming and, at times, migraine-inducing. This also applies to the Huda Stick Foundation, which unfortunately seems to be discontinued. My only wish is for Huda to eliminate the fragrance from her product line.
One product from Huda that I absolutely adore is the Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder in Pound Cake, which provides a slight brightening effect. This particular product came highly recommended by my friend, pro makeup artist Cherie, who used it on me during a makeup session. However, it’s worth noting that it contains talc, a personal downside for me, and has a very pronounced fragrance. While it promises to be flashback-free, which it is, I apply it sparingly as Cherie demonstrated, using a large fluffy brush to delicately pat it around my face for a flawless finish.
Testing the About Face Foundation
I have yet to try the About Face the Performer Skin-Focused Foundation, which I purchased during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty event for just $11. This product piqued my curiosity, but I remain uncertain about how it will perform on my finicky skin. Have you had a chance to try this fair foundation? I would love to hear your thoughts on it!
Finding the Right Shade with Iconic London

In August, I purchased the Iconic London Super Smoother Blurring Skin Tint on sale for $16 in the shade Fair Neutral, only to realize it was too dark for my complexion. Subsequently, I opted for the Cool Fair shade, which is a much better match for my skin. I genuinely appreciate this formula; however, it does require perfect skin preparation to achieve the best results. I find it performs optimally when paired with a hydrating primer underneath. You can spot me wearing it in my Monster High Draculaura Cosplay 2024. I plan to test it alongside the Iconic London Radiance Booster soon! It’s important to note the stark difference in depth between Fair Neutral and Cool Fair in my fair foundations swatches.
Moving forward, I plan to apply Fair Neutral around the perimeter of my face to create depth while using Cool Fair at the center. I’m excited to see how this technique will work for me.
Additionally, I really enjoy the Iconic London Radiance Booster, although finding the Pearl Glow shade can be quite a challenge. Currently, the only place I can locate it is on the Iconic London website. I’m also a fan of their Prep Set Glow Spray, which can be applied either before or after makeup application for an added glow. Personally, I prefer to use it after applying my setting powder to enhance illumination.
Reviewing Haus Labs Concealer
I am a huge fan of the Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating + De-puffing Concealer! Initially, I was incorrectly matched to shade 02 Fair Golden by a sales associate at Sephora. However, when I had the opportunity to work with professional makeup artist Cherie for some makeup lessons, she expressed disappointment at my incorrect shade match, stating it contained too much yellow for my skin tone. She recommended that I try 01 Fair Neutral instead, which is indeed a much better match for my complexion.
The formula of this concealer is remarkable because you can easily dab it on, allow it to sit for 30-60 seconds, and then blend it seamlessly into your skin with your fingertip. Alternatively, you can use a brush, like the BK Beauty Kitten Paw concealer brush, to achieve a flawless finish.
Charlotte Tilbury Products: A Mixed Experience
Although I rarely purchase Charlotte Tilbury products due to their tendency to pull orange on my complexion, I was intrigued by the Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick. On paper, it appears to be my ideal foundation choice, claiming to offer light coverage while hydrating the skin, blurring imperfections, and providing a soft-focus finish. Unfortunately, it resulted in a similar effect to the Hollywood Flawless Filter on my skin, leaving me with an unflattering “Tin Man” appearance. In contrast, the Auric Glow Lust in Morganite suits my skin much better than the Flawless Filter ever did.
Regrettably, I missed the return window for this product, and I continue to explore ways to make it work for me.
Find Your Perfect Match with Urban Decay

When asked about my favorite skin tint, I instantly mention the Urban Decay Hydromaniac Tinted Moisturizer. Why? Because it delivers a stunning glow that I absolutely love! Urban Decay suggests mixing it with All Nighter Face Primer, which I have yet to try. I keep intending to test it in combination with Auric Glow Lust in Morganite or the Iconic London Radiance Booster. It remains a stellar product and one of my all-time favorites from Urban Decay.
