I have to admit that my consistency with #SheetMaskSunday has taken a hit recently, as I have been struggling to find motivation over the past month. Each day, I wake up excited about the prospect of blogging joyfully, but then I get sidetracked by an endless list of other tasks. Truth be told, there always seems to be something more pressing on my agenda, and lately, my attention has been consumed by preparing for my upcoming work trip to Paris. This trip has occupied a significant portion of my mental energy, as the schedule is incredibly packed. Fortunately, I only need to adhere to the brand’s itinerary, which simplifies things immensely!

This year has brought its share of challenges for my skin, starting with an unfortunate bout of shingles on the left side of my face earlier in the year, followed by what I suspect to be a fungal infection manifesting as a small, red spot on my face. While this blemish is only about 6mm in size, it has proven to be quite stubborn. I am still in the midst of treatment, as fungal infections can be notoriously difficult to eliminate, and I’m not sure how I even contracted it. I use a variety of makeup sponges and brushes, yet the issue seems localized to this one area. Additionally, in the weeks leading up to my trip to Paris, my lips have started acting up again. This is reminiscent of a pattern I experienced years ago whenever I was stressed. The edges of my top lip have become red, itchy, and dry, taking around two weeks to show signs of improvement. Over the past month, this irritation has returned intermittently, leading me to believe I might be developing cold sores, although I haven’t experienced the typical blistering or scabbing. As a result, I haven’t been able to commit to daily sheet masking as my skin has been on a rollercoaster ride. I remain hopeful that after my trip to Paris and once my nerves settle, my body will relax and stop reacting so negatively.

In light of this, I had intended to showcase two fabulous masks from the Korean brand 16 Brand as part of my summer series. However, with the emergence of that pesky red spot, I paused my plans and began a course of topical medication. Despite the hiccup, I found both masks to be enjoyable and of remarkable quality!
