Hello, Hex Squad! I’m excited to present to you some captivating summer brat makeup inspiration, featuring the stunning Bellabeautébar Basic Witch palette. I discovered this palette back in March during a time when I wasn’t feeling my best, but thankfully, I’m now on the mend and have been exploring its beautiful shades. Each color in this palette complements my skin tone perfectly, including the bold Grimoire, which is a delightful surprise. This palette has quickly become a staple in my collection, and I can’t wait to share the looks I’ve created with it!

Understanding My Photography Choices for Summer Brat Makeup
For this summer brat makeup look, I want to clarify that I’m not using self-tanner. Instead, I’ve focused on shooting in a way that captures a natural skintone reminiscent of outdoor sunlight, rather than my usual indirect cool lighting that tends to emphasize my fair complexion. This approach helps create a more vibrant and fresh appearance in my photos.
Additionally, this summer has been challenging due to severe allergies, which have left my skin feeling particularly dry. To combat this, I’m taking a break from my adapalene 0.3% gel until my skin can regain its balance and hydration. It’s important to listen to your skin’s needs, and I’m prioritizing its health during this time.
Exploring the Summer Brat Eyeshadow Color Palette
Here’s a detailed look at the eyeshadow colors I selected for my summer brat makeup. To achieve a bold and striking look, I first applied a black liquid eyeliner, which I then set with black eyeshadow for an intense finish. Additionally, I tightlined my eyes using a black eyeliner pencil, enhancing the depth by layering it with black eyeshadow. This technique has proven to be my go-to method for achieving the deepest, most dramatic black eyes possible, ensuring that my makeup stands out beautifully.
Creating the Perfect Summer Brat Makeup Look

FASHION HIGHLIGHTS
I’m wearing a stunning Vitaly Black Frenzy spiked choker necklace, paired with eye-catching Alien earrings and a Sunzel Brat Green crop top that is currently on sale as I write this post. Each piece adds an edgy yet stylish touch to my overall look.
BROW PRODUCTS USED
My brow routine includes the trusty Nyx Clear Brow Glue and the LA Girl Soft Black Brow Ink Long-Wearing Micro Brush Detailer Pen, ensuring my brows stay perfectly styled throughout the day.
EYESHADOW AND LINER SELECTION
To prep my eyelids, I use the Devinah Prelusion Eye Primer (remember to use code CORDELIA to save on your purchase). The Bellabeautébar Basic Witch Palette was my main choice for eyeshadow, incorporating shades like Hecate, Hex, Glinda, Perfectly Wicked, Witch Please, Creep it Real, and Cauldron. Additionally, the *PR Black Moon Orb of Light Palette in black adds depth. I finished off my eye look with VE Cosmetics Black Liquid Liner, Nyx Always Onyx pencil for tightlining, and Fenty Lavender Pro Filt’r Powder to set. Lastly, I applied Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara for voluminous lashes that really pop.
FACE PRODUCTS
For my base, I used Wet n’ Wild Green Glass Correct Primer and Wet n’ Wild Impossible Primer to create a flawless canvas. I then applied Haus Labs 01 Fair Neutral Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating + De-puffing Concealer, followed by Rare Beauty Bright Side Cream Bronzer for warmth. To define my features, I used Lilyloria 01 Cool Brown Contour powder and highlighted with Haus Moonstone highlighter. For a fresh flush, I reached for REM Pinking of U Hypernova Satin Matte Blush, and set everything with Huda Beauty Pound Cake Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder. Finally, I locked in my look with Iconic London Prep Set Go hydrating setting spray.
LIP PRODUCTS
I started with the Nyx Jet Set pencil (though it’s discontinued, I’m on the lookout for a fun purple replacement) and topped it with the *PR Wicked Widow Beauty Goth Adjacent purple lipstick. To add a unique twist, I finished my lips off with Karla Bubble Bath loose eyeshadow for an iridescent sheen.
Reveling in the Beauty of Purple Lips
It’s been a while since I’ve worn purple lipstick, and I genuinely missed it! My partner Dave particularly loved the iridescent sheen from the Bubble Bath loose eyeshadow layered on top. The liquid lipstick formula is incredibly comfortable, and I appreciate that it doesn’t make my lips feel dry or lead me to constantly lick them. Finding a comfortable lipstick is truly a win in my beauty book!
Enhancing Skills with a Personalized Makeup Lesson
I had the pleasure of visiting Sephora International Plaza to have a makeup lesson with the talented pro artist Cherie. We focused on sculpting my face and improving my eyebrow application technique. If you’re in Tampa, I highly recommend booking a session with Cherie or another professional makeup artist. The personalized guidance can make a significant difference in your makeup skills!
Expert Tips for Perfect Brows
During my session, Cherie advised me to choose a favorite brow to style first. She used Anastasia Brow Freeze to elevate my chosen brow, then expertly applied a soft black eyeshadow with a thin angled brush to mimic natural brow hairs. I’ve been trying to recreate this technique using Silk Naturals Tour (remember to use code CORDELIA for savings), and I have had success! For this summer brat makeup look, I decided to test the LA Girl Soft Black Brow Ink Long-Wearing Micro Brush Detailer Pen. I love the color it produces, but I find that the tip can be inconsistent, making it a bit finicky to use.
Mastering the Art of Sculpting
Cherie shared some invaluable tips on how to sculpt my face effectively. She demonstrated where to place cream bronzer behind my jawbone and blend downwards, emphasizing the importance of contouring without cutting off the natural shape of my jawline. Previously, I had been applying contour too low, resulting in an overly boxy appearance. After adjusting my technique, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my overall makeup look, and I plan to keep practicing to enhance my skills even further.
Personalized Product Recommendations for My Skin Tone
One of the highlights of my lesson was having Cherie shade match me to the Haus Labs 01 Fair Neutral Triclone Skin Tech Hydrating + De-puffing Concealer. She mentioned that the 02 Fair Golden Olive shade was too yellow for my skin but had the right depth. This experience made me realize that not all beauty advisors may be makeup professionals, as I had previously been misled by another Sephora employee. Cherie also pointed out that the Tarte Amazonian Clay blurring powder in 12N Fair Neutral was too dark for my complexion, recommending Huda Beauty Pound Cake Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder instead.
Additionally, she suggested the Haus Labs Moonstone Bio-Radiant Gel-Powder Highlighter, which I was thrilled about since I’ve contemplated purchasing it multiple times. Cherie confirmed that I have very fair neutral cool skin, making highlighters like Moonstone and concealers like 01 Fair Neutral a perfect match. If you struggle with finding the right foundation, I highly recommend visiting a professional makeup artist for personalized advice and recommendations.
Current TV and Movie Obsessions
Fascination with House of the Dragon
I’m currently engrossed in House of the Dragon, captivated by the dragons and the intriguing characters Rhaenyra and Daemon. While the dragons are a visual delight, I find the writing and directing to be lacking at times. Season 2 felt particularly slow, with excessive long pauses and an overemphasis on side stories, detracting from the development of key characters. I wish there had been more screen time dedicated to figures like Helaena, Jace, and Baela. Furthermore, Rhaenys made a rookie mistake that seemed inconsistent with her character and Meleys’ experience.
I don’t mind some of the creative changes made to the storyline, as they often help the narrative flow better by eliminating unnecessary characters and combining others. However, I truly dislike the numerous tedious pauses, deep sighs, and lingering stares that make for dull television. Such elements do not build
